Fafi Integrated Development Association (FaIDA) is looking for a suitably qualified candidate to fill the post of Human Resources Officer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Interpret and apply human resources policies, rules and regulations as well as standards and techniques;
Identify needs for new or modified human resources policies, practices and reviews, and recommend amendments or actions accordingly as required;
Recruit and/or support recruitment of staff;
Review and recommend level of remuneration for staff;
Determine, administer and provide advice on salary and related benefits, travel, social security entitlements, other allowances and incentives on the basis of contractual status and in line with HR rules and regulations;
Monitor the appropriate use of various types of employee contracts;
Monitor the work of Administration Assistant in carrying out all human resources administrative transactions including maintenance of staffing tables, and processing of contracts;

Provide advice to staff and managers with respect to performance management issues;
Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

University degree in Human Resource Management. A postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management is an added advantage.
At least three years of postgraduate professional experience in HR administration or management field.
Training and experience utilizing computers and other HR software packages.
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Kiswahili.
Good knowledge of personnel policies, rules and procedures. Work experience in large UN/international organizations is an added advantage.

To support the development of its Child Protection programme in Lagdera District, Tdh is encouraging applications from Kenyan nationals for the role of:

Child Protection Project Manager

1 Position

Reporting to: Child Protection Programme Manager

Duty station: Modogashe, Lagdera District.

Contract duration: 12 months (with 3-month probation period)

Main responsibilities:

To be responsible, under the supervision of the Child Protection Programme Manager, for all aspects of the implementation of the Child Protection project in rural divisions of Lagdera district.
To manage, mentor and train a team of CP staff and community workers.
To coordinate with the Psychosocial Counselor to ensure regular assessment of project needs and adequate follow up of extremely vulnerable cases.
To develop close collaboration with the local authorities such as the District Children Officer, other partners and services in order to establish a proper child protection referral system.

Requirements:

Minimum diploma-level education in related field.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in projects supporting children (social work, child protection, psychosocial, education, etc.)
Team management experience (30-40 subordinates).
Project reporting and evaluation experience.
Fluency in English and Kiswahili. Ability to communicate in Somali is a plus.
Willingness to live at village level in main project sites.

Field Operations

An Upper Second Class Honours degree in Statistics with appropriate specialization from a recognized university/institution; or
An Upper Second Class Honours degree in Economics, or Economics and Mathematics, or Economics and Statistics from a recognized university/institution; or
An Upper Second Class Honours degree in any of the subjects enumerated at (I & II) above with a bias towards Computer Science, Operations Research, Survey Techniques and demographic Techniques and Demographic Techniques from a recognized university/institution.

Job Title: Payroll Accountant

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Chief Accountant, the Officer will be expected to administer the payroll and to prepare salary statements of all employees.

Key Responsibilities

Be responsible for maintaining computerized payroll related accounts;
Calculate net salaries after taking into consideration deductions and exemptions and ensuring timely remittances of statutory deductions;
Verify statements of earnings for employees, indicating gross and net salaries and deductions such as taxes, and insurance and pension plans;
Verify and process forms and documentation for administration of benefits such as pension plans, leave, share savings, employment and medical insurance;
