Financial Accountant
Context:

Customers:
- Senior Management
- Auditors (Internal, and external)
Outputs:
- Manage Finance Managers
- Responsible for inter-company accounts
- Prepare and process accounting journals in terms of IFRS
- Assist with monthly management accounts
- Assist with statutory reporting:
- Assistance with monthly completion of reporting packs
- Assistance with year-end completion of reporting packs
- Completion of annual financial statements
- Responsible for tax computations
- Completion of various company tax returns
- Financial Planning
- Financial analysis
- Resolution of financial queries
- Budgets and forecasting
- Assistance with corporate governance
- Assistance with managing systems of internal, operational and financial control
- Assistance with ad hoc projects
Qualifications:
- University degree in business related field
- Qualified Accountant [CPA (K), ACCAP or equivalent are a mandatory requirement
- High degree of proficiency in computer applications for accounting and finance
- Knowledge
- At least 7 years work experience which includes regular provision of the above outputs
Competencies:
- Strong financial and accounting knowledge (IFRS)
- Statutory understanding (companies act and Tax)
- Financial analysis experience
- Computer knowledge:
- GL packages
- Excel — spreadsheets
- Microsoft Word
- Hyperion Financial Management (advantageous)
