A Tours and Safaris Company wishes to recruit an experienced Fleet and Operations Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Daily Operations Management of a Fleet of tours and safaris vehicles

Education Requirements

Key Skills and Other Requirements

Tour Consultant Job in Kenya

Our client a tour and travel company based in Nairobi Kenya is looking to recruit a Tour Consultant.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responding to enquiries regarding hotels & safaris within 24hrs
Prepare itineraries to the various destinations of interest
Doing research and producing periodical newsletters with current offers to be sent out to clients
Doing tour bookings - both inbound
Doing regular check on website to ensure its up to date and running smoothly
Ensuring KWS park rules & hotel regulations are made clear to tourists
Ensuring payment for each tour booking is received in advance or proper authorization is received from a corporate prior to credit sale
Creating contact with hotels, car hire, sightseeing attraction and other service providers for best competitive contract rates
Ensuring the rates files are orderly & up to date
Ensure bookings that do not mature are cancelled in time to avoid cancellation penalties especially for hotels
Arranging to see vehicles (and if possible be accompanied by customer reps) before start of service to ensure quality and minimize customer complains
Briefing drivers before they depart for safari
Preparing welcome pack for tourists before departure for safari
Ensure clients’ special requests especially on accommodation & room specification, driver guide language, meals and others are pre-arranged. (E g. ensuring families are booked rooms closer together; pork is not served to Muslim guests etc.)
Being on standby ready to provide solutions in case of mishaps during safari
Coordinating with travel consultants to arrange flying & ground packages
Opening client tour files for upcoming tours especially groups
Making follow-ups for tour quotations
Ensuring that tours quotations are competitive
inclusions, exclusions as well as terms & conditions of a quotation should be highlighted to reduce disputes with clients
Making sure vehicles (especially if hired from outside) have the company stickers

Prerequisites

Experience and Education: - Previous experience of like 3yrs and above in the same position is required.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and be very good in computers.

Tours and Travel Consultant Job in Kenya

A growing Tours and Travel company is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the position of a Tours and Travel Consultant whose main job content will be to market and coordinate tours and safaris, issue air tickets, design tour packages for target niches, organize safari transport and logistics, liaise with supplying agencies, negotiate and liaise with hotels and assist in general management of the office.

Will be expected to:

Qualifications and skills

* Diploma in Clearing and Forwarding from a recognized institution or East Africa Freight Forwarding Practicing Certificate.
* Should be well informed and conversant with all the cargo clearance points in the country.
* Be well updated on international cargo safety including DGR and IATA regulations.
* Trained and certified on the current On-line Customs Agent operating systems with not less than 5 years working experience in a busy and reputable firm.
* A valid and clean driving license and be competent to drive within Nairobi and it’s environ.
* Current certificate of Good conduct.
* Be computer literate and be able to utilize fully the electronic customs declaration systems and other related authorities. Simba,Tradex, Kwatos etc.

Motorcycle Rider, Driver and Support Staff

You will be completing all tasks and duties required for driving/riding around Nairobi and its environ, as well as some long-distance jobs.

The job holder is responsible for operating and maintaining official company vehicles.

He will be required to occasionally perform miscellaneous clerical tasks.

Other specific duties will include:

* Perform routine driving/riding duties as assigned
* Diagnose and rectify minor mechanical effects to the vehicle in use, in case of an emergency;
* Ensure cleanliness and serviceable mechanical condition of the assigned vehicle.
* Assist in the collection and delivery of mail, buying goods, supplies and consumer items.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Posses a clean and valid class B.C.E & F license, with minimum 5yrs driving experience.

* Must be able to work under minimum supervision, and meet strict time schedules.
* Be 30-40 years
* Preferably Ex. National youth service (N.Y.S) training or AA driving license
