Our client, Geberit International Sales is a Swiss multinational organisation that specializes in manufacturing and supplying sanitary parts and related systems.  

Geberit is looking to hire a Senior Technical Sales Engineer for their Kenya operations. 

Reporting to the Head of the Region (Sales Manager), the Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for carrying out special projects and tasks as well as developing the Kenyan market.

The Senior Technical Sales Engineer will specifically be responsible for:
  • Conducting continued local market research and analysis to develop recommendations for the Kenyan market approach;
  • Supporting the Sales Manager in defining country-specific product assortments and finding suitable distribution partners;
  • Identifying sales oriented as well as technical trainings for representative partners and their customers;
  • Providing technical support to the Company’s sales partners within Kenya;
  • Calculating, designing and managing of projects;
  • Organizing and conducting local workshops and site visits in Kenya as well as conducting customer care;
  • Organizing and conducting visits, factory tours and trainings in Switzerland and Germany;
  • Using CRM for all sales activities (customer visit planning, contact reports, project information etc.); and
  • Consulting and supporting of sanitary and piping systems.
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Mechanical Engineering;
  • Be a registered member with Engineers Registration Board of Kenya;
  • Five (5) years professional experience working in the building industry and/or plumbing/sanitary industry;
  • Sales affinity;
  • Should have experience working on construction sites;
  • Must have knowledge of MS Office, CRM, CAD (Autocad);
  • Should possess proper presentation skills;
  • Should be innovative and creative;
  • Should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Should possess interpersonal and negotiation skills;
  • Should be a trust worthy individual with high integrity;
  • Should be able to adapt and to work well in high pressure environment;
  • Should Exhibit an entrepreneurial spirit;

4. New Product Development 
(1 Position)
 
Responsible for ensuring successful development of new flower varieties into, commercial products by implementing product demonstrations and programmes.

Key qualification includes University Degree (Bsc in Horticulture, Agronomy, 3-/years’ experience of research and development.

5. Packhouse Supervisor 
(1 Position)
 
Responsible for the management of flower grading and packing activities in the Packhouse, ensuring excellent quality output as well as health & safety. 
You will also coordinate the logistics of collecting flowers from the farmers. 
Key qualification includes Diploma in agriculture or horticulture, 1-2 years’ working experience in a packhouse management, Good communication and report writing skills.

General Manager Business Development

Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager, Business Development will be responsible for coordinating and advising the Managing Director on all aspects of Corporate Planning as well as Business Strategy development. marketing and research. 

She/He will be charged with spearheading the strategic management process in the Corporation, review of existing business structures and identification of new business opportunities.

Job Requirements

  • A Masters degree in Business Management or an equivalent will be an added advantage.
  • Have a relevant professional registration or qualification.
  • Have fourteen (14) years work experience eight (8) of which should have been served at a Senior Management Position.
  • Be conversant with the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) regulations and the Physical Planning Act.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and a broad understanding of the housing industry in Kenya.
  • Be a team player, customer focused and change oriented.
  • Be computer literate.
The positions of General Managers will be on a three (3) year renewable contract term
