Vacancy: Demand and Supply Planner

Our client in the FMCG Industry is looking to hire a Demand and Supplier Planner who will primarily be responsible for all forecasting and replenishment activities associated with customers and products. 

The Demand and Supply Planner will also be responsible for creating and maintaining forecast models for their customers, incorporating business intelligence and forecasting information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, retailer replenishment analysts, and other sources.


The Demand and Supply Planner will specifically be responsible for the following:
  • Creating and maintaining the appropriate master data in the planning systems in use by minimizing errors, and avoiding duplication and obsolescence;
  • Providing data on stocks, forecasts, BO purchases and replenishment plans as required by the key stakeholders ;
  • Reviewing sales plans, updating customer finance budget or latest estimates and demand drivers;
  • Achieving consensus for operational demand forecasts by facilitating a collaborative planning process with sales, marketing and finance personnel;
  • Providing input to volume planning, latest estimates or annual process;
  • Maintaining demand planning system and software;
  • Using appropriate statistical models and parameters, and enriching statistical forecasts to generate accurate base demand forecasts that will be aligned to optimize stock covers as well as replenishment plans.
  • Focusing on and delivering a stable demand plan, by taking into account appropriately recent events, along with achievement of Demand Plan Accuracy (DPA);
  • Having a controlled variability of accuracy and no systematic bias;
  • Driving fast, appropriate actions to minimize the impact of deviations from the Demand Plan and communicating these actions to stakeholders;
  • Tracking errors using DP Reason Codes and maintaining an efficient Learning Log;
  • Activating purchase orders from brand orders in alignment to replenishment plans as well as optimized logistics service;
  • Maintaining and updating EGMS (KRA –Excise Goods Management System) in line with KRA guidelines and process to order stamps, declaring usage per brand and maintaining accurate forecasts;
  • Processing IDF in KRA online systems for all shipments to Kenya Domestic Market;
  • Managing inbound materials through updating stock movement in alignment to 3PL WMS;
  • Forecasting and managing bond transfer through a structured monthly replenishment plan to the duty paid warehouses in alignment to demand plan volumes;
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Management or Statistics at entry level;
  • A graduate diploma (CIPS) or any other national higher diploma in Supply Chain or Logistics at entry level;
  • Excellent IT skills and previous experience with an ERP system;
  • Excellent communication and Customer Service skills
  • Sufficient knowledge of warehousing and distribution;
  • A strong business perspective;
  • A passion for working with customers, internally and externally;
  • A strong desire to develop trust and long term relationships;
  • A strive for service improvements and be proactive and responsive to customer demands;
  • Must impact and convince others to work cross functionally and externally to get commitment to ideas, actions and deliver results.
