Remuneration: Under the consultancy program, the fees paid to Computer Trainer is approximately US$2,000.00 per month.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Chief, Staff Development and Training Unit (SDTU), the incumbent’s major duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

To conduct computer classes for ICTR staff members from beginners level to advanced level as per the established curriculum.
To administer and prepare staff members enrolled in the Computer course for the Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) online examinations.
To conduct classes on Networking (eventually to sit for the Comptia N+ Certification)
To conduct classes on Web Design using Dreamweaver.
To conduct classes on Microsoft Products eg Windows 7, Vista etc.
To prepare user manuals on all computer applications in the established curriculum.
To generate training reports for need assessment in support of the various Sections and Units of the tribunal.
To maintain a class attendance checklist for monitoring staff participation in the computer course and for the SDTU attendance records.
To prepare in liaison with the other training consultants, quarterly and end of term reports.

Communication: Demonstrated good teaching, presentation and communication skills in English.
Planning & Organization: Ability to plan and prepare a teaching handout programme for the allocated hourly class session in accordance with the established teaching curriculum
Accountability: Ability to deliver the teaching output for which one has responsibility within the prescribed time, cost and quality standards.
Creativity: Ability to actively seek to improve the internal teaching programme or services provided at ICTR.
Managerial Competencies

Managing Performance: Ability to monitor the computer course participants’ progress in the following programmes; office packages, networking, Microsoft Certified Products and Web design.
Vision: Demonstrate ability to put forth a strategically planned teaching class session in achieving the objective of proficiency in the use of computers (1) as a communication tool and (2) for the purpose of sitting for the Microsoft Office User Specialist Certification examinations.
Judgement/Decision making: Aptitude to work in a multi-cultural environment with respect of the various diversities in cultural background, religion etc. Ability to assess progress of computer course participants based on class participation and end of term performance.
Qualifications

Education: University degree or equivalent in computer science, IT Certification eg MCSC, CCNA, N+ and A+ Certification.
Work Experience: At least 2 years of pertinent experience in teaching.
Languages: English and French are the working Languages of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR). For the position advertised, fluency in oral and written English is required.
Selection Criteria

Candidates will be assessed against the following:

Ability to plan and prepare teaching handouts.
Demonstrated ability to teach Computer applications listed under responsibilities.

article 8). English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.

The International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) is a non-smoking environment.
