Nation Media Group General Manager, Innovations and Business Development Job Vacancy

Nation Media Group, the leading media house in East and Central Africa is seeking to recruit an experienced and self motivated individual to the position of General Manager, Innovations and Business Development.

Reporting to the Group CEO, the incumbent will be responsible for generating and developing innovative business strategies towards the Group’s vision of being the Media of Africa for Africa.

Key responsibilities:

Developing and driving the Group’s business strategy in liaison with the stakeholders and ensuring implementation;
Identification of business enhancement projects and working in collaboration with the divisional heads to identify solutions for innovative services, models and approaches to support growth;
Building of information-based assessments of opportunities, identification of new business opportunities through research, and rigorous analysis of business cases;
Identification of cutting edge technological needs, key competencies and other large impact efforts that will drive new revenue streams and enhanced customer engagement;
Creating and nurturing a team that thrives on innovations while providing leadership to innovation projects and processes;
Embedding the culture of innovation , managing performance and the execution of long and short term business innovation strategies; and
Development of business plans and the requisite budgets.
Qualifications, experience and skills

Business Degree with focus in strategy, innovation and business research, MBA qualification will be an added advantage;
5-7 years of experience in business development, innovation or business research;
Demonstrable record of passion and drive for results;
Capability for transformational thought process and commercial acumen;
Strong communication and presentation skills; and
Excellent people management and interpersonal skills.
