Systems Administrator Job in Kenya - Kapenguria Teachers Sacco

Kapenguria Teachers Sacco Society Limited, a well established SACCO situated in West Pokot County invites suitable candidates to fill the post of Systems Administrator

Duties and Responsibilities

In charge of ICT department
Installs, configures and upgrades operating systems and software, using SASRA standards and administrative packages, including security software.
Be able to modify specific applications for use in the general operations of the SACCO.
Installs, assembles and configures computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals.
Pulls cables and rewires or directs the rewiring of cables as required for new installations and office configuration
Troubleshoots problems with computer and communication systems
Acts as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data
Assist by ensuring that the society reporting standards are complied with without any delay.
Assist with the planning, design research and acquisition of new or upgraded hardware and software systems
Maintains current knowledge of hardware, software systems, and network technology and recommends modifications as necessary.
Maintains and manages the users help desk on hardware and operating systems.
Maintains and manages the audit tray for the SACCO's operations
Updating and monitoring security patches in the operating systems and office applications
Managing the servers to ensure integrity in the operating systems and virus free environment
Facilitating effective use of ICT systems to maximize on benefits of installed technology
Advising on trends in ICT developments relevant to healthcare and other aspects of business management
Be in charge of all society's computers and ensure proper use and maintenance of all computers and accessories
Implementing in-house ICT systems in liaison with user departments
Participating in training of staff in the ICT department and in other departments

Qualifications Experience

Degree in Computer Science, Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or equivalent in applications/ computer maintenance
Certification in core areas of computer applications/ computer maintenance, cabling, ERP software and database products will be an added advantage
At least 5 years hands on experience in busy ICT support environment handling both software and hardware preferably in a commercial, financial, micro finance institutions or in a cooperative of more than 3,000 members
Be aged between 25-40 years

Knowledge in current ICT trends and developments
Good analytical skills
Team player with good communication skills
Sound technical knowledge and troubleshooting and repair skills in a WAN/LAN environment
Much acquainted with computer programming skills
