Nithi Water & Sanitation Company is one of the Water Service Providers contracted by Tana Water Services Board (TWSB) as an agent to provide water and sanitation services in Chuka and Chogoria Towns and their environs.
To strengthen our corporate management team, we invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates with excellent credentials to fill the following positions:
General Manager
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager will be expected to provide overall direction through planning directing and coordinating the activities of the company.
The General Manager shall provide strong and inspirational leadership to performance goals and objectives of the company and in particular improving service delivery to all customers and stakeholders.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
1. Ensuring full compliance with all the legal/statutory requirements.
2. Ensuring effective implementation of the Board policies
3. Providing visionary leadership and managing NIWASCO resources for maximum productivity.
4. Develop and operate company management systems.
5. Ensuring continuous achievement in financial and operating objectives.
6. Acting as secretary to the Board of the company.
7. Developing and periodically updating the corporate plan including projections of any necessary expansion and development of facilities and extensions of the business operations.
8. Coordinating and directing the company’s operational plans and performance targets.
9. Leading in change management within the company and be consistent with the commercial principles and practices of operating a corporate business.
10. Effectively promote a positive image of the company at all times.
11. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Board of Directors.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Diploma in Water Engineering, Business related field, Environmental science or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 5 years working experience in a managerial position preferably in a water institution.
3. Good report writing, communication skills and team player.
4. Proficiency in standard Office Computer Applications.
5. Proven strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
6. Demonstrated experience in strategic management, including planning goal setting, and preparation of technical reports.
Technical Manager
Overall Responsibility
The Technical manager will ensure that all the technical resources of the company are well managed. The Technical Manager shall be reporting to the General Manager.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
1. Directing, Coordinating, Controlling Monitoring and Managing the company’s Technical Operations and ensuring good operations and Maintenance of infrastructure for quality water and sanitation services.
2. Designing all projects to be undertaken by the company.
3. Ensuring that the water is treated and that the quality meets WHO standards.
4. Ensuring that Non Revenue Water (NRM) is reduced to acceptable levels.
5. Ensuring proper management of the technical assets.
6. Developing technical department strategies, targets, policies, procedures and plans to facilitate achievements of overall company’s objectives
7. Ensuring that the needs of the customer are effectively met.
8. Any other duties allocated by the General Manager.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Diploma in Water Engineering/Technology.
2. Minimum of five (5) years and relevant post qualification working experience in a busy water sector institution, three of which must be in a senior position.
3. Have demonstrated ability to manage water and sanitation utilities with proven record.
4. Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative.
5. Good report writing, communication skills and team player.
6. Proven Computer literate skills.
