International Rescue Committee (IRC) Health Professionals Jobs in Kenya

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is one of the largest humanitarian agencies in the world, providing relief, rehabilitation and post-conflict reconstruction support to victims of oppression and violent conflict.

Started in 1933, the IRC now operates in more than 40 countries worldwide and addresses both the immediate, life saving needs of conflict-affected people in an emergency and the reconstruction needs in post conflict societies.

In Kenya, the IRC serves refugees in the Kakuma and Dadaab (Hagadera) camps and vulnerable populations in the Turkana region.

The IRC implements programs in the areas of comprehensive primary health care, nutrition, sanitation and hygiene and HIV/ AIDS.

Applications are invited for the following positions:

Senior Health Professionals

IRC is currently looking for three experienced Senior Health Professionals (Health Coordinator, Nutrition Coordinator, and HIV Coordinator) for its programs in Kenya.

The positions are based either at Nairobi or one of the Field sites and require travel to the field program sites.

We need persons with excellent technical skills in the areas of public health management/ nutrition/ HIV, strategic thinking and vision, innovative problem solving skills, program coordination experience.

The three Coordinators are members of the Kenya CMT (Country Management Team) and will have leadership role for the overall health program, ensuring program quality, achieving steady growth for the health sector (in terms of budget and geography) and networking internally within IRC and externally.

Community Health Program Officer (Dadaab Based)

IRC is currently looking for a Community Health Program Officer who will be based in Hagadera Refugee Camp.

We need a person with proven experience in working with communities with diverse cultural practices and low literacy levels and experience in planning and designing programs.

We need a person who is a registered nurse with advanced qualification in Public Health (Diploma) or Community Development.

Clinical Officer Paediatrics (Dadaab Based)

IRC is currently looking for a Clinical Officer Pediatrics who will be based in Hagadera Refugee Camp. The person will be in charge of the pediatric ward and ensuring that quality health care is availed to all patients in the pediatric ward, stabilization centre and the pediatric outpatient clinics.

We need a person with a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and a Higher Diploma in Pediatrics.
